England supporters without tickets have attempted to force their way into Wembley Stadium ahead of the Euro 2020 final between England and Italy.

Supporters have been congregating along Wembley Way since the early afternoon with the majority behaving peacefully.

At around 16:30 a group of fans attempted to breach a perimeter of barriers near the Bobby Moore hospitality section of the stadium. In a video posted by Rave Footage, police and stewards can be seen trying to prevent people from getting into the ground.

Some supporters were seen being trampled on, as people desperately tried to advance before security got the situation back under control.

As per a Wembley Stadium statement, the incident did not result in any fans forcing their way in without a ticket.

“We are dealing with an incident that occurred at the outer security perimeter area of the stadium, with support from police. Safety measures were quickly activated in the relevant areas and there were no security breaches of people without tickets getting inside the stadium,” it read.

There is no indication that the incident will lead to a delay of the kick-off time, with the final still set to take place at 20:00. The game is the biggest in men’s English football since the 1966 World Cup final, in which the Three Lions triumphed over West Germany after extra time.

There was also crowd trouble elsewhere in London, with footage surfacing online of England fans throwing bottles, plastic signs, and even trees at one another in Leicester Square.

Footage also showed minor damage caused to a Burger King in the area, with glass being smashed in the upstairs area of the fast-food restaurant.
